Straight answers
Which sports can I coach?
Any sport. Volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, football, swimming, track, gymnastics, lacrosse, hockey, golf, wrestling, and more. Pick your sports when you create your profile; choose Other if yours is not listed yet.
Do I need to bring my own athletes, or will PRV8 send me some?
Both. The fastest start is moving the athletes you already coach onto PRV8 so their bookings, clips, and payments live in one place. Your public profile also appears in athlete search, and Mentor coaches are placed first, so new athletes and parents can find you over time.
Can I coach virtually?
Yes. CLIPS video feedback is fully remote, live virtual one-on-one lessons run through LESN, and mentorship check-ins happen wherever your athletes are. In-person lessons and group sessions work the same way if you coach locally.
How is this different from Venmo and texting, or other coaching platforms?
Athletes pay at booking or by monthly subscription, so you never chase money. Feedback stays with the athlete in the app instead of disappearing in a text thread. And PRV8 takes no cut of your price: athletes pay a 4% + $1 service fee at checkout, and your full price transfers to your own Stripe account.
Is there a contract?
No. Starter is free with no card required. Coach and Mentor bill monthly or yearly through Stripe, and you can change, pause a monthly plan, or cancel anytime from your coach portal. Access runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Do I need a paid plan to coach?
No. Starter is free and covers lessons, group sessions, scheduling, messaging, and payouts. Coach adds CLIPS video-feedback subscriptions. Mentor adds MNTR mentorship programs and priority placement in athlete search.
What does PRV8 take?
Nothing from your price. The athlete pays a 4% + $1 service fee at checkout that covers processing. Your plan fee, if you are on Coach or Mentor, is the only thing you pay.
When am I paid?
Payments go to your own Stripe account. Lesson payments transfer when the lesson completes; subscriptions transfer each billing period. Payouts to your bank run weekly.
Can I change my CLIPS prices later?
Yes, anytime, from your coach portal. You choose which of the three tiers to offer and set each price from the ladder. New subscribers see the new prices; existing subscribers keep the price they signed up at.
What if an athlete cancels?
Subscriptions run to the end of the paid period. Lesson cancellations follow the coach’s cancellation window. Cancelled in time, the lesson price returns to the athlete as PRV8 account credit that applies automatically to their next booking; the service fee is not refunded. Inside the window, the coach’s policy decides whether partial or no credit is issued. If the coach cancels or doesn’t show, the athlete gets the full amount back as credit, including the service fee, and can move any credit to their card for a $3 processing fee.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Coaches must be 18 or older to create a coach account.
