Privacy Policy

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains what PRV8 (“PRV8”, “we”) collects when you use prv8.app, the PRV8 mobile app and our products (CLIPS, LESN, MNTR, EDGE, JRNL, Formula and the Club Program), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It is part of our Terms of Service.

2. What we collect

• Account and profile. Name, email, password (stored hashed), date of birth, role (athlete, parent or guardian, coach, club staff), sport and skill categories, timezone, avatar photo, and for coaches a bio, training location, rates, availability, Stripe account status and any SafeSport or background-check status the coach chooses to add.
• Family links. Which guardian accounts manage which athletes, and which athletes belong to which club and team.
• Coaching content. Video clips athletes send, the questions and notes attached to them, coaches’ feedback (written cues, drawings, audio or video replies), lesson bookings, mentorship goals and check-ins, and messages between athletes, guardians and coaches.
• EDGE and JRNL entries. EDGE profile answers (sport, position, goals, training history, equipment, body measurements you enter), daily check-in answers (sleep hours and quality, soreness, energy, mental state), meal photos you choose to log, and JRNL journal entries. This is sensitive information about your body and wellbeing; we collect it only to build and adapt your plans and your journal.
• Club data. Rosters, team assignments, registration details, membership status (for example USAV or AAU numbers and expiry dates entered by the club), dues and payment status, schedules, event registrations and waivers, and match statistics in Formula.
• Payments. Purchase history, amounts, service fees, credits and payout records. Card details are entered directly with Stripe, our payment processor; PRV8 receives only a token, the card brand and last four digits.
• Device and usage. IP address, browser and device type, app version, push-notification tokens, pages and screens viewed, and crash and performance data.
• Support. Anything you send us through the contact form or by email.

3. How we use it

We use this information to run the Service: to connect athletes with the coaches they choose, deliver clips and feedback, book and run lessons, operate mentorship programs, build EDGE plans and readiness scores, keep journals, run club registration, dues and schedules, process payments and payouts, send receipts, booking confirmations, reminders and coaching notifications (email and push), answer support requests, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our terms, and improve the Service. We may send product news by email; you can opt out at any time. We do not sell personal information.

4. Who sees it

• Your coach. A coach sees the clips, questions, bookings, goals, check-ins and messages of the athletes who work with them, plus the athlete’s name, age group and sport. Coaches do not see your payment card.
• Parents and guardians. A guardian sees everything about the athletes they manage, including coaching feedback, schedules and payments.
• Your club. Club directors and staff see roster, team, registration, membership, dues, schedule, event and development data (such as CLIPS activity, EDGE participation and Formula statistics) for athletes in their club, to run the club.
• Other athletes. Teammates may see your name and team in team chat, rosters and group sessions. Coach profiles are public.
• Service providers. Companies that process data for us under contract: Stripe (payments and coach payouts), Amazon Web Services (video and image storage), Vercel, Render and Railway (hosting and database), Resend (email), Expo (push notifications), Apple and Google (app distribution and in-app purchases), Google Maps Platform (location search), OpenStreetMap Nominatim (geocoding for events), YouTube (embedded videos on our website) and Vercel Speed Insights and Web Analytics (site performance and usage).
• Legal. When required by law, to protect the safety of a minor or other user, or in connection with a merger or sale of PRV8, in which case this policy continues to apply.

5. Children and athletes under 18

Much of PRV8 is used by youth athletes. Athletes under 18 use PRV8 with the consent of a parent or guardian, and athletes under 13 only through an account created and managed by a parent or guardian, who can review, correct and delete the child’s information at any time. We collect only what the Service needs: name, date of birth (to apply age rules), sport, team, the coaching content the athlete and their coach create, and, if the athlete uses EDGE or JRNL, those entries. We do not show third-party advertising to anyone, and we do not sell children’s data. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account without a guardian, we delete it. Guardians can contact support@prv8.app to review or delete a child’s data.

6. Video, photos and journal entries

Clips and photos are stored privately and shown only to the athlete, their guardians, the coach they were sent to, and PRV8 staff when needed for support or safety. Journal entries are private to the athlete and their guardians. We do not use your clips or photos in marketing without written permission. You can delete clips, photos and entries in the app; copies may remain in backups for a limited time.

7. Payments

Stripe processes every card payment and coach payout. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to the data it collects. EDGE subscriptions bought in the app are processed by Apple or Google under their policies; we receive confirmation of the purchase, not your payment details.

8. Location

We use location only when you ask: a ZIP code or city you type to find coaches or events, your device location if you tap “Use my location” on the events page, and the training location a coach adds to their profile. We do not track your location in the background.

9. Cookies and analytics

prv8.app uses cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences, and Vercel Speed Insights and Web Analytics, which are privacy-focused and do not use cross-site tracking cookies. Stripe sets cookies on checkout pages to prevent fraud. Embedded YouTube videos only load, and only set YouTube cookies, after you press play.

10. How long we keep data

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you close your account we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except what we must keep for payment, tax, dispute and legal reasons, which we keep only as long as those obligations last. Coaching feedback remains available to the athlete after a subscription ends. Clubs keep their own records of past seasons.

11. Security

We protect data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls limited to staff who need access, and vendor security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will notify you as the law requires.

12. Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your profile in the app or on prv8.app, manage push notifications in your device settings, unsubscribe from marketing email with the link in any message, and cancel subscriptions from your account page. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data by emailing support@prv8.app; guardians can make these requests for the athletes they manage. We will verify the request and respond within the time the law requires.

13. California residents

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and share, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, email support@prv8.app.

14. Where data is processed

PRV8 is operated from the United States and your data is stored and processed there. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you consent to that transfer.

15. Changes to this policy

We will post updates here with a new date, and notify account holders by email or in the app before material changes take effect.
