Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

PRV8 (“PRV8”, “we”, “us”) operates the website at prv8.app, the PRV8 mobile app for iOS and Android, and the products described in these terms: CLIPS video feedback, LESN lessons, MNTR mentorship, EDGE training plans, JRNL, Formula and the PRV8 Club Program (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of a club or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for it.

PRV8 is a platform. Coaches on PRV8 are independent professionals who set their own prices and deliver their own coaching. Unless a coach is expressly identified as PRV8 staff, PRV8 is not a party to the coaching relationship and does not employ, supervise or guarantee any coach.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You need an account to buy or sell coaching on PRV8. You agree to give accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us promptly at support@prv8.app if you believe your account has been used without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Coaches must be at least 18 years old. Parents and guardians must be at least 18 to create a guardian account. Athletes may use the Service as described in section 3.

We may refuse, suspend or close accounts that break these terms, that we reasonably believe are fraudulent or unsafe, or that are inactive for an extended period.

3. Athletes under 18

Athletes under 18 may use PRV8 only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on the athlete’s behalf and is responsible for the athlete’s use of the Service, including purchases. Athletes under 13 may use PRV8 only through an account created and managed by a parent or guardian.

Guardian accounts let a parent manage one or more athletes: book and pay for lessons, subscribe to CLIPS or MNTR, register for club events, and see the athlete’s schedule, payments and coaching feedback. A guardian may also message a coach about their athlete.

4. Coaches on PRV8

Coaches create a public profile, choose which products to offer and set their own prices. PRV8 takes no percentage of a coach’s price. Coaches choose a plan: Starter (free), Coach or Mentor. Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, can be changed or cancelled from the coach portal, and run to the end of the period already paid for.

Coaches are independent contractors, not employees, agents or partners of PRV8. Coaches are responsible for their own coaching, qualifications, facilities, insurance, taxes and compliance with the rules of any league, club or governing body they work under, including any SafeSport, background-check or minor-athlete-protection requirements that apply to them. PRV8 may display a coach’s SafeSport or background-check status when the coach has provided it, but PRV8 does not independently verify it and does not guarantee any coach.

Coaches receive payment through their own Stripe account. Stripe’s terms apply to those payouts. Coaches must deliver the coaching they sell within the quota, schedule and scope they advertised, honour their published cancellation policy, and keep athlete video and messages private.

5. Products

• CLIPS is a monthly subscription to one coach for video feedback on short clips. The coach sets the price and offers tiers with a fixed number of clips per billing period (for example 10, 20 or 50). Unused clips do not roll over. Turnaround times are set by each coach and are not guaranteed by PRV8.
• LESN is a live lesson, in person or virtual, booked for a specific time and paid at booking at the coach’s rate. Small-group lessons share the coach’s group rate. Coaches may also offer group sessions with open spots.
• MNTR is a monthly mentorship program with one coach that includes unlimited CLIPS feedback and the check-ins, lessons and goal tracking described in the tier or package the coach offers.
• EDGE is an AI-assisted training system in the PRV8 app that builds daily workout, nutrition, recovery and mental-preparation plans from your profile and a daily check-in. See section 13.
• JRNL is a free training journal in the PRV8 app.
• Formula is a volleyball statistics product for teams and clubs, sold separately.

6. Prices, the service fee and payments

Coaches set their own prices. When an athlete or guardian pays a coach through PRV8, a service fee of 4% of the coach’s price plus $1.00 is added and shown before payment. The service fee covers payment processing and the platform. The coach’s full price is transferred to the coach’s Stripe account: for lessons when the lesson completes, for subscriptions each billing period.

Payments are processed by Stripe. PRV8 does not store your full card number. By paying you authorize PRV8 and Stripe to charge the payment method you provide for the amounts shown, including recurring charges for subscriptions until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars. Applicable taxes, if any, are your responsibility unless shown at checkout.

7. Subscriptions, cancellations and refunds

CLIPS and MNTR subscriptions, and coach plans, renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page on prv8.app (coaches: from the coach portal). Cancellation stops the next renewal; the subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and that period is not refunded. Feedback you have already received stays in the app.

A coach may change their prices for new subscribers. Existing subscribers keep the price they signed up at until they cancel. If a coach stops offering a product or leaves PRV8, we will cancel affected subscriptions at the end of the current period, or sooner with a pro-rated credit or refund.

8. Lessons: cancellations, no-shows and credit

Each coach sets a cancellation window for lessons, shown when you book. Lesson cancellations follow the coach’s cancellation window. Cancelled in time, the lesson price returns to the athlete as PRV8 account credit that applies automatically to their next booking; the service fee is not refunded. Inside the window, the coach’s policy decides whether partial or no credit is issued. If the coach cancels or doesn’t show, the athlete gets the full amount back as credit, including the service fee, and can move any credit to their card for a $3 processing fee.

An athlete who does not attend a booked lesson (a no-show, as marked by the coach) is charged the full price and receives no credit. Rescheduling is available up to the start of the coach’s cancellation window. Account credit has no cash value except as described above, cannot be transferred, and is forfeited if the account is closed for a breach of these terms.

If you believe a charge is wrong, contact support@prv8.app within 30 days of the charge and we will review it with the coach.

9. Purchases through the App Store and Google Play

EDGE is sold inside the PRV8 app as an in-app subscription through Apple or Google, at the price shown in the app, with a free trial where offered. Those purchases are billed, renewed, cancelled and refunded through your Apple or Google account under their terms, not through prv8.app. Lessons booked in the app are paid by card through Stripe as described in section 6. CLIPS and MNTR subscriptions and coach plans are sold on prv8.app only.

10. Club Program

Clubs may use PRV8 to run registration, dues, rosters, schedules, messaging and events. Participation in the Club Program is paid by each athlete’s family at the per-athlete monthly price shown by the club on PRV8; the club itself is not charged for the platform. Club dues, deposits and installment plans are set by the club and collected through Stripe on the club’s behalf; the club’s own refund rules apply to club dues. Club directors and staff may see the rosters, payment status, schedules and development data of athletes in their club, and must use that information only to run the club.

11. Your content

You keep ownership of the videos, photos, journal entries, messages and other content you add to PRV8. You give PRV8 a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit and display that content as needed to run the Service, including showing athlete clips to the coach the athlete sends them to, showing coaching feedback to the athlete and their guardian, and sharing club data with the athlete’s club. We do not use your clips in marketing without your written permission.

You confirm that you have the rights to the content you upload, including permission from anyone who appears in your videos, and that it does not break any law or these terms. Coaches keep ownership of their coaching feedback but grant athletes a permanent licence to keep and review it.

12. Acceptable use

You agree not to: harass, threaten or abuse anyone; upload content that is unlawful, sexual, violent or hateful; contact a minor athlete outside PRV8 in breach of your club’s or governing body’s rules; take a coaching relationship started on PRV8 off the platform to avoid the service fee; scrape, copy or resell the Service or coach profiles; interfere with the Service’s security; or impersonate anyone. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.

13. Safety, health and training plans

Athletic training carries a risk of injury. Coaching, feedback and training plans on PRV8, including EDGE plans and readiness scores, are general athletic guidance, not medical, nutritional or psychological advice, and are not a substitute for a physician, registered dietitian or licensed therapist. Consult a doctor before starting a training or nutrition program, stop if you feel pain or unwell, and never rely on an EDGE score instead of medical care. You, and for minors your parent or guardian, are responsible for deciding whether an exercise, lesson or plan is appropriate.

In-person lessons happen at locations chosen by the coach and athlete. PRV8 does not inspect facilities and is not responsible for what happens during a lesson.

14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PRV8 disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any coaching will produce a particular result.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PRV8 and its officers, employees and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for personal injury arising from coaching or training, and PRV8’s total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or the service fees you paid to PRV8 in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify PRV8 against claims arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms. Coaches additionally agree to indemnify PRV8 against claims arising from the coaching they provide.

15. Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing support@prv8.app. Active subscriptions end at the close of the current period unless you cancel them first. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or create risk for other users, with notice where reasonable. Sections 6 to 8, 11, 14, 16 and anything else that by its nature should survive will survive termination.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a dispute with PRV8, email support@prv8.app first and we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Disputes between an athlete and a coach are between those parties; PRV8 may help mediate but is not obliged to.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service changes. We will post the new version here with its date, and for material changes we will notify account holders by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
